Creative Scotland is the public body responsible for supporting and developing Scotland's Creative sectors, that enrich the lives and experiences of the people who live in and visit Scotland. Over the last few years, we have delivered a full digital transformation of our organisation and its funding activities, which was a vital part of our ability to support our sectors during the pandemic. Now we are looking to the future, with a major new “Multi-Year Funding” programme to deliver as well as continuing our transformation journey.

We are recruiting for an experienced and talented individual for our Head of Planning, Performance and Change role, which will lead our work on organisational planning, performance, change and governance.

This is a pivotal new role in our organisation, accountable for the planning and performance monitoring across activities that are being delivered by multiple teams and have high technical or political risk. To deliver all of this we are looking for someone who:

  • Challenges the way things have always been done and seeks to identify innovative new ways of working that will improve the impact of Creative Scotland.
  • Is a team player who works collaboratively, builds great relationships and recognises the value of others’ experiences and perspectives.

There are many elements to the work of Creative Scotland and the new Head of Planning, Performance and Change will establish and lead our “Portfolio Management Office” (PMO), responsible for the smooth, consistent and effective planning, performance, change and governance management for the organisation.

Uniquely placed to have an overview of all of the activity in the organisation, the role will work with the Board, CEO, Executive Team and staff across the organisation to bring valuable learning, innovation and good governance into our daily work. They will support our continued digital transformation and will help Creative Scotland to embed a culture of continuous improvement in our performance and delivery.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across a range of projects and organisational change initiatives (for example, Smarter Working) which focus on user needs, drive efficiencies and innovate to realise operational benefit. The role will play a key role in our organisational development work, underpinned by our strategy, funding review and directorate requirements in introducing best practice across our processes and policies.

Closing date for receipt of completed applications is 5pm on 28th November 2023. Interviews will take place on 12th December 2023. If selected for interview you will be expected to be available on this date.

If you are interested in applying for this vacancy, please see job description for full details about the role.

Please note we only accept applications from candidates who are eligible to work in the UK.
