Research Officer – Screen (Maternity Cover)

Based in Edinburgh

Salary: £33,997 (pro-rata) plus pension and benefits

Fixed Term – 6 months

Full Time (35 hrs per week)

Grade C

We are looking for a Research Officer to support the collation, analysis and dissemination of data and information relating to the screen industries in Scotland. This role is to support Screen Scotland, a dedicated team who are focused on supporting the screen sector in Scotland.

Working closely with the Head of Knowledge and Research, you will manage specific data collection and research activity to help in the development and delivery of Creative Scotland’s national research strategy for the screen sector. You will provide informed advice, insight and guidance, and be alert to the emerging issues and research needs of colleagues and external partners. You will be responsible for maintaining key databases and resources and helping to effectively brief and disseminate relevant information internally and externally.

Our ideal candidate with have a proven experience of designing and managing research projects:

  • including commissioning and working with external suppliers. You will need to have an up-to-date knowledge of current policy and research agendas relating to the creative economy, excellent analytical skills and an ability to synthesize and interpret large volume data sets.
  • strong project management skills and the ability to develop and establish effective relationships with multiple stakeholders, along with a commitment to our core values, are all essential.
