Place, Partnerships & Communities Officer – Maternity Cover
Salary Band: £34,330 pa
Grade: C
Contract: Full Time, initially for 6 months
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: The contractual base for this post is Edinburgh; however, we will consider applicants from across Scotland as there will be opportunities to discuss flexible and smarter working such as hybrid/home working
The Role:
Are you passionate about building vibrant cultural communities and fostering meaningful partnerships across Scotland? Creative Scotland is seeking a committed and collaborative Place, Partnerships & Communities Officer to help deliver our Strategic and Annual Plans. This role sits within the Arts, Communities and Inclusion team and works closely with the Head of Place, Partnerships and Communities.
You’ll play a key role in delivering the Culture Collective and Place Partnership Programmes, while developing and nurturing relationships with local authorities, cultural trusts, and local networks across Scotland. You will work across different artforms and with artists, cultural organisations and community groups within the context of place. This will require you to work closely with colleagues across Creative Scotland and develop local, national and international partnerships both within and outwith the cultural sector
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on strategic partnerships and support Creative Scotland’s place-based and community-led creative work.
Provide guidance to artists, cultural organisations, and community groups, including representing Creative Scotland at events and funding fayres.
Build relationships across a cluster of local authority areas and maintain regional briefings to inform development and funding activity.
Act as primary contact for organisations, ensuring effective relationship management.
Support funding programme activities including pre-application guidance, assessment, decision making and monitoring and review of funding agreements.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in cultural policy, including the policy contexts of local authorities in Scotland, community engagement, or partnership development.
An understanding of the role of arts and creativity in contributing to the cultural, social and economic development of communities and places.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A collaborative mindset and ability to work across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Passion for supporting inclusive and sustainable cultural development across Scotland.
A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion and sustainability.
Knowledge of Gaelic and/or Scots languages and cultures is desirable
